It's time to look again at what I have stashed away... files, paintings, art supplies, notebooks, books, papers, crafts, etc... I worked on the garage, files, magazines, upstairs closets, clothes, the desk drawers and now it's time to tackle head on the toughest clearing, the one that has taken me over a decade to be ready for---- the art portfolio. College was a very significant time in my life, where I was on my own for the first time and I began to express myself as I never had. I got to draw, paint, print, explore with materials, find images that spoke to me, and I navigated with some guidance, but very much intuitively, with lots to give to my process. It was so therapeutic to learn about how the arts and self-expression flowed out of me and was revealing, sometimes scary, but ultimately soothing to my soul. Emotional attachments are the ones left last, so that the others can help clear the way to the ones that hold deeper sensitivities. I will report back on how it goes. Wish me luck! What is your place of material things with locked in emotions that haven't been touched in years or decades? Are you ready to take this step with me? Please share your experiences!
